The White Company introduces fresh new ranges in bed linen and bedroom furnishings for Spring.

Spring is an exciting time at The White Company when it comes to bed linen and bedroom furnishings.

“I always love it when spring arrives, because I can pack away my winter woollies to make room for lighter textures and fabrics that breathe spring back into my home and wardrobe,” says Chrissie Rucker, founder of The White Company. “The new collection is fresh and sophisticated offering the customer three very distinct looks to choose from – white and stylish navy, white and elegant neutral, white and the prettiest pale pastels.”

The White Company’s new Riviera Pleated Bed Linen (from £16 for a pillowcase) is truly a slice of the South of France in the bedroom. The 50 per cent linen, 50 per cent cotton blend makes for a wonderful texture but also provides the coolness of linen but with the easier care of cotton.

For true spring luxury, the Antilles Linen Bedcover (£100) in pure linen is hard to beat. In plain white with a smart contrast border in navy or natural, it is hard to find anything more stylish. The classic range of Santorini Linen (from £20 for a pillowcase) and Santorini Cotton Bed Linen (from £12 for a pillowcase) has been re-introduced because of its great looks and great value.

Kitts (£18), Rico (£25), Barts (£18) and Tobago (£25) Pure Linen Cushions are a new addition to the ever-growing family of White Company accessories.

“The most interesting way to use cushions is to choose a selection of coordinating styles and sizes,” says Chrissie Rucker. “Designed with this in mind, these four styles fit together perfectly.”

The new Pollensa Cotton Blanket (£45) – soft, brushed cotton – is perfect for the sofa, for the beach or in the park but it’s stylish enough for the bed as well. The gorgeous Albany Blanket (£75) and Cushion Covers (from £15) in pure knitted cotton are beautiful and add a lovely natural texture to any bedroom.

“People always ask me how to make an all-white bedroom look great,” Chrissie says. “It is all about layering – either with beautiful shades of white, putty and naturals. Alternatively, for the perfect all white look, layer lots of white using a few items with gorgeous texture to create a look that is inviting and stylish.”

The perfect answer, therefore, is the Soft Cotton Rib Bedspread (from £55) and Cushion Cover (£20). It offers a relaxed look with its soft, casual finish and comes in putty, natural or white. For texture, the new Lucca Bed Linen (from £10 for a pillowcase) is also ideal. The 250-thread count in pure cotton percale feels light and soft against skin. The subtle sateen stripe with delicate hemstitch edge is also a nice touch. The Hemmingway Throw (£70) and Cushion cover (£30) are gorgeous chunky-knits that look fabulous on the bed or tossed over a favourite sofa.

A glamorous theme runs through The White Company for spring/summer 2007 with the stunning Isis Silk Cushions (£25). These washed silk cushions have a contrasting ivory lining that just peeks out between the pretty ties at each end. The vintage pink, sand and aqua colours add an extra touch of elegance.

The White Company introduces an exquisite new range, the Palermo Cotton Bedspread (from £75) and Cushion Covers (from £18). The beautifully lightweight, hand-quilted pure cotton bedspreads are perfect for spring and summer. These would look as gorgeous in a traditional home as a contemporary one.

To create a really pretty bedroom, The White Company has designed the romantic hand-quilted Elodie Cotton Bedspread (from £110) and Cushions (from £20). It is fully reversible and has a gorgeous scalloped edge.

Austen Check & Morgan Chambray Bed Linen (from £10 for a pillow) is a new range that is sure to be a hit. Austen is a smart woven check while Morgan, with its relaxed woven chambray panels adds a light touch. Put them together for a fresh new look that is ideal for older children’s rooms and guest bedrooms.

Inspired by vintage eiderdowns, Portobello (from £110 to £175) is designed to perch on top of the bed without draping over the sides to help recreate a classic eiderdown look. The beautifully hand-quilted, romantic combination of soft paisley print on super silk satin is hard to beat.

Taffeta is such a luxurious fabric that The White Company had to re-introduce it for spring in the form of the Rio Taffeta Bedspread (from £80) and Cushion Covers (from £18). These hand-quilted pieces have a smart channel stitching finished with a neat Oxford border.
