Introducing: Amala Giza 45

The finest bed linen starts with the finest cotton. Made in Portugal from rare Giza 45 Egyptian cotton, Amala is woven into an 800-thread-count sateen with a silk-like handle. For fine linen connoisseurs and opulent sateen lovers, there’s simply nothing else like it.

Known as the Queen of the Nile, Giza 45 is one of the world’s rarest cottons. Representing less than 1% of Egyptian cotton production, it’s cultivated in extremely small quantities and harvested entirely by hand.

Its extra-long fibres allow the yarn to be spun finer than conventional cotton. This gives our 800-thread-count sateen its exceptionally smooth feel and natural lustre – qualities that simply can’t be replicated with ordinary cotton. It also creates a stronger, more durable fabric that washes beautifully and lasts for years to come.

The spun cotton is then sent to our factory partner in Portugal, whose expertise in making exceptional bed linen spans more than 100 years. With a fabric this extraordinary, less really is more, so we kept the detailing on the Amala collection intentionally understated. Each piece is finished with a single row of fine white cording that frames the bed linen without distracting from the fabric itself – subtle from afar, beautifully finished up close.
