LINEN CARE GUIDE
Soft and relaxed
Supple and breathable, linen is a natural fibre that gets softer and more supple with each wash. To preserve its unique texture and integrity, follow these care recommendations.
How to wash
• Linen can usually be machine washed at 40°C. Finer linen may require washing at 30°C. Always refer to the care label for exact instructions, as fabric blends may vary.
• Turn garments inside out to protect the surface fibres.
• Use a mild detergent and, if desired, a fabric conditioner to help soften the fabric.
• Avoid overloading the washing machine, so water can circulate properly around each garment.
How to dry
• Do not tumble dry.
• Lay linen garments flat on a clean, dry towel to air dry, keeping them out of direct sunlight.
• They can be hung to dry but avoid using wire hangers or pegs that could snag or mark the fabric — especially for finer weaves.
• If ironing is required, do so inside out and while slightly damp. Avoid very high temperatures and pressing directly onto seams as this may weaken the fibres.
Get to know linen
A true wonder of a fabric. Naturally breathable and temperature regulating, linen can be worn year-round and becomes even softer with each wash.
Much of the world’s linen production is in Western Europe, where a temperate climate provides the ideal conditions for growing the flax plant. Where possible, our linen clothing is EUROPEAN FLAX™ certified, which carries the guarantee of traceability back to this area.
Buying less and buying better is something we’ve believed in from the beginning – choosing pieces you know you'll get a lot of wear out of and looking after them well is a good place to start.
