OTHER MATERIALS & BLENDS CARE GUIDE
Durable and versatile
While we prioritise using single-fibre fabrics where possible, some garments require blended fabrics to improve fit, feel or function. Each blend behaves differently, so it’s always important to check the care label for specific guidance.
Fabric blends
While we prioritise using single-fibre fabrics where possible, some garments require blended fabrics to improve fit, feel or function. Each blend behaves differently, so it’s always important to check the care label for specific guidance.
A good place to start:
- Look at the highest fibre percentage. For instance, if a garment is 83% cotton and 17% recycled polyester, it can typically be washed as cotton.
- Luxury fibres like wool, silk and cashmere may affect care needs even in small percentages, so follow the most delicate fibre’s care requirements.
Recycled polyester
Durable and easy-to-care for
How to clean:
- Polyester can typically be machine washed at 30°C on a normal cycle.
- Refer to the care label, as instructions can vary depending on colours and fabric blends.
- Separate colours and lights to prevent colour transfer.
How to dry:
- Hang to dry for best results.
- You can tumble dry on a cool setting but remove items quickly to avoid static.
- Iron on a low heat or use steam if needed.
Recycled polyester
A practical, man-made fibre that’s naturally water repellent and crease resistant, sustainable versions are made using recycled plastic bottles. Polyester is often blended with natural fibres for enhanced durability.
Viscose
Soft and smooth
How to wash
- Some viscose pieces are machine washable, while others require hand washing. Always check the label.
- If machine washing, turn the garment inside out and use a delicate, cold-water cycle with a low spin.
- Use a gentle detergent and avoid fabric softener.
- For hand washing, soak in cold water for up to 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
How to dry
- Never tumble dry, as viscose can shrink.
- Lay flat to dry and do not wring.
- Steam to smooth out wrinkles if needed.
Get to know viscose
An elegant and smooth fabric that holds a beautiful drape. Viscose is a super-soft silk substitute. Derived from renewable raw-wood materials, it is also known as rayon.
Buying less and buying better is something we’ve believed in from the beginning – choosing pieces you know you'll get a lot of wear out of and looking after them well is a good place to start.
