Silky and soft

Luxurious, durable and ultra-soft to the touch – we’ll show you how to best care for this special fabric.

How to wash

• Silk is best hand washed. Always refer to the care label as recommendations may vary depending on the fabric blend and colour.

• Turn the garment inside out before washing in lukewarm water with a gentle, specialist silk detergent.

• Do not soak. Gently wash hands for a few minutes, then rinse until the water clears.

• To remove excess water, lay the garment flat on a white towel, roll it up gently and press to absorb moisture.

How to dry

• Never wring silk or use a tumble dryer.

• Lay flat to dry or use a padded hanger to avoid marks and maintain shape.

• To reduce creasing, hang in a steamy bathroom or use a cool iron on the reverse side while the fabric is slightly damp.

Get to know silk

Silk is a luxuriously soft and breathable fabric. Naturally thermoregulating, it is the perfect choice across seasons. Its smooth texture helps reduce friction and is often believed to support skin and hair hydration.

Silk quality is measured in momme (mm), a Japanese unit that refers to weight. A higher momme count means a denser, more durable weave. For reference, 4.34 grams per square metre equals 1 momme.

Our silk garments and bed linen are typically made from 19 momme silk — a perfect balance between elegance and durability. While lower momme counts such as 6 are ultra-light and sheer, higher counts like 40 may be too heavy to drape fluidly.

Buying less and buying better is something we’ve believed in from the beginning – choosing pieces you know you'll get a lot of wear out of and looking after them well is a good place to start.
