WOOL CARE GUIDE
Soft and cosy
Wool is naturally soft, breathable, and warm. To maintain its shape and comfortable feel, follow these steps.
How to wash
• Most wool is hand-wash only, but some blends may be machine washable. Always refer to the care label.
• Use a specialist wool detergent when hand washing. For machine-washable items, use a non-biological detergent and wash on a wool or delicate setting.
• After washing, do not wring. Gently press to remove excess water.
How to dry
• Never tumble dry.
• Do not hang wool items to dry as this can cause the garment to stretch out of shape.
• Lay flat on a clean rack with a towel underneath to catch drips and help air circulation.
• Steam to remove creases but avoid using a flat iron directly on the fabric.
How to store
• Once dry, fold and store in a breathable cotton bag. Avoid plastic storage, which can trap moisture.
• Zip the item in the bag, if possible, to protect from moths.
• Wool is best stored freshly washed.
• Avoid hanging knitwear for long periods, as this may cause it to lose its shape.
What is pilling?
Pilling is a natural characteristic of even the finest wool. It’s most common in areas exposed to friction, causing loose fibres to gather on the surface. The softer the wool, the more prone it can be to pilling.
Use a wool comb or fabric shaver to gently remove pills before storage or as needed.
Get to know wool
Naturally renewable, breathable and crease resistant, the benefits of wool are numerous. Our wool is sublimely soft, warm and cosy against the skin.
Some of our products use RWS-certified wool (Responsible Wool Standard), which ensures the wool is sourced from farms with high standards of animal welfare and sustainable land management. Our certification is carried out by Control Union (CU-CUC-893638).
Buying less and buying better is something we’ve believed in from the beginning – choosing pieces you know you'll get a lot of wear out of and looking after them well is a good place to start.
