Sourced from Fair Trade suppliers in Bangladesh, who help over 2,000 of the country’s poorest women sustain a decent wage to support their families, these artisanal coasters are consciously crafted. Skilfully handmade from local jute, the remarkable blonde colouring comes from the fresh flowing water in which it grows.
Conciously Crafted:
• Jute is natural fibre that doesn’t rely on insecticides or pesticides. Completely biodegradable, the plant reaches maturity quickly – between four and six months – so it is an incredibly efficient source of renewable materials. Relying on natural rainfall, it also absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen much faster than trees. What’s more, it enhances the fertility of the soil it grows in for future crops.
