The home in bloom

At this time of year, we naturally start opening the windows a little wider, letting more light in and bringing small signs of spring indoors. Fresh flowers are one of the simplest ways to do that, a therapeutic ritual that instantly lifts a room – and our mood.

Arranging flowers at home doesn’t need to feel precious. We love keeping things loose and unfussy, choosing stems we’re drawn to and letting them fall naturally into place. A favourite vase on the kitchen table, a few cut flowers by the sink or a small arrangement on a side table can quietly change how a space feels – lighter, softer, more lived in.

There’s also something grounding about the process itself. Trimming stems, refreshing the water, taking a moment to arrange them – it’s a small pause that feels restorative. While their beauty is fleeting, that’s part of the appeal. Flowers encourage us to slow down and enjoy what’s in season, right now.

Spring brings some of our favourite stems. Tulips are effortlessly elegant and full of movement, while daffodils and narcissi add a welcome sense of brightness. Hyacinths bring a gentle scent that works well in hallways or living spaces, ranunculus or anemones add softness and texture. We love the simplicity of one variety too, a loose bunch of roses or tulips feels striking on their own, without feeling overly styled.
