Where do I find my gift card PIN?
Your gift card PIN is a four-digit number that you'll find on the back of your card – simply scratch off the relevant panel above the barcode. Please take care when scratching off the panel, as damaged gift cards will not be accepted. Attempting to peel the panel off will destroy the PIN.
Is there an expiry period for my gift card?
Gift cards are valid for 24 months from the day of purchase or the last transaction.

Where can I use my gift card?
You can use your gift card to purchase items in any of our UK stores (excluding concessions), over the phone, or online (applied in the Payment Details section at Checkout).
How can I check my gift card balance?
Simply visit our card balance check page and enter the 19- or 21-digit number on the back of your gift card. Alternatively, you may prefer to visit one of our stores (find your nearest The White Company store) or you can also call our customer service team on 020 375 89 222 (Monday–Friday: 8am to 10pm: Saturday: 9am to 5pm, Sunday: 10am to 4pm).
What is a gift card?
Gift cards are credit-card-sized cards which can be loaded with values between £5 and £500, to spend with The White Company online, in store or over the phone. They are valid for 24 months from the last transaction. Gift cards can be used as part or full payment in stores, online or over the phone.
Where can I buy a gift card?
You can buy a gift card from any of the White Company stores (excluding our concessions), online or over the phone, or in selected large-format Sainsbury’s stores.
We currently offer the redemption of gift cards and e-gifts on our UK website only.
What can I buy with my gift card?
You can use your gift card to buy all items available online, in store and over the phone except gift cards and e-gift cards. Gift cards can be used in all our UK stores, excluding concession stores.
Are gift cards pre-denominated?
No – when you order a gift card online or over the phone, they can be loaded with any value from £5 to £500, and we round to the nearest pound. Gift cards purchased from Sainsbury’s stores can be loaded with any value from £15 to £200.
Can I get the cash back from my gift card?
Sorry, we can’t give you cash for your gift card balance. Gift cards can’t be returned or refunded.
Can I cancel my gift card order?
Please make sure you check all details when placing your order, since we are unable to issue a refund.
How will my gift card be presented?
The gift card will be posted straight to your recipient in a card with The White Company logo. Cards purchased from Sainsbury’s stores are fixed to a hanging card with The White Company logo.
How will my gift card be delivered?
We send the gift cards by Royal Mail first class post. A signature will be required. If you order before 3pm we aim to deliver your gift card the next day. Orders placed after 3pm will be delivered within two days (excludes Sundays). Not available with Collect+ service.
What happens if my gift card is lost, stolen or damaged?
Please treat your gift card with care. We won’t accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged cards.
How do I get a refund on items purchased with a gift card?
If you are returning an item in one of our stores then money will be credited back on to a gift card. If you are returning an item to our distribution centre, after your item has been received, we will credit the relevant amount back to you by sending you an e-gift card. Cash or credit/debit card alternatives cannot be issued. Please do not destroy your empty gift card until you are 100% happy with your purchase.
I have spent the balance on my gift card. What do I do with it now?
Please keep your gift card in case you decide to return an item you bought with it in one of our stores, as refunds will be applied on your gift card. If you are returning an item to our distribution centre, after your item has been received, we will credit the relevant amount back to you by sending you an e-gift card.
Can I add more money to my gift card?
Yes, you can top it up in store (find your nearest The White Company store).You cannot top up online, but you can always order a new gift card.
Can multiple gift cards be spent at once?
Multiple gift cards can be used to pay for a single purchase in stores.
To spend multiple gift cards within the same order online, please use our merging tool to combine them into one. You will then be able to use that gift card for purchases online, through the Contact Centre and in stores.
How can I merge my gift cards?
To merge gift cards, visit our merging tool, where you can enter the details of your gift cards. We recommend that you check the balance and expiry date of each card, as the value of the gift cards will be added onto the first one you enter. No changes are made to the expiry date.
You can merge up to five gift cards, with a maximum total balance on one card of £1000.
Please note: gift cards that have been previously merged or had their balance transferred cannot be used again.
Do you send gift cards overseas?
Yes, our gift cards can be purchased on our UK website and sent overseas. They can be used to purchase items in any of our UK stores (excluding concessions), online or over the phone.
E-gift Card FAQs
What are e-gift cards?
E-gift cards are electronic gift cards that work just like standard (plastic) gift cards but they are sent to you by email. They can be used for shopping online at thewhitecompany.com, in store or over the phone.

You can use your e-gift card to purchase items in any of our UK stores (excluding concessions), over the phone, or online (applied in the Payment Details section at Checkout).
How can I check my e-gift card balance?

Is there an expiry period for my e-gift card?

These numbers can be found on the email that is sent with your e-gift card.

How far in advance can I purchase an e-gift card?
E-gift cards are sent and received on the same day. The activation will start on the date the order was placed, and will be valid for 24 months from this date. When you use the e-gift card the expiry date will be extended for another 24 months.
What happens if my e-gift card is lost, stolen or damaged?
Your e-gift card is valuable. Please keep your e-gift card number secure. Your card number is unique and the total value can only be redeemed once. The White Company will not accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged e-gift cards. If you have lost your print out, you can reprint the e-gift card if you have the original email. If your email has been deleted or you’ve lost your PIN number, please call our customer service team on 020 375 89 222 (Monday-Friday: 8am to 10pm: Saturday: 9am to 5pm, Sunday: 10am to 4pm).
What happens if I enter the wrong e-mail address when purchasing an e-gift card?
Please be extra careful when typing in the recipient’s email address as The White Company will accept no responsibility for errors.
Paper Gift Vouchers
The White Company will no longer accept paper gift vouchers as a payment method. We stopped selling paper vouchers in August 2017 and replaced these with gift cards, which are available to purchase online or in store.
