It’s the beautiful fabric that makes this shirt such a summer hero. Lightweight and floaty, the weave is ultra-fine to create a semi-sheer effect, ideal for layering over swimwear, or over a camisole with the matching trousers for a smarter style. Cut to a boyfriend-shirt silhouette with two patch pockets, shirt cuffs and a stepped hem (longer at the back to make styling a breeze), we also love it worn open with the sleeves rolled up, for a weekend feel.
Ramie is a natural fibre, similar to linen flax. It makes a smooth, lightweight, plant-derived fabric, that can be woven very sheer and fine. It has many of the same qualities as linen – durable, breathable and moisture-wicking (ideal for warm weather) and it softens the more you wash and wear it. The nature of the fabric means it’s prone to creasing, but we love this casual, worn-in look.
