Cotton Percale

Cooling benefits: Percale refers to the way the cotton is woven which allows air to circulate freely, helping heat escape and keeping bedding feeling fresh and cool.

Style it with: The matte smoothness of percale goes effortlessly with contrasting textures – lightweight summer bedspreads, cool marble and jute rugs – for a fresh, understated look that feels calm and contemporary.

Silk

Cooling benefits: Silk is naturally temperature-regulating and helps maintain an even sleeping environment, feeling cool against the skin without trapping warmth. Its smooth fibres are breathable and won't cling on warmer nights.

Style it with: Soft neutrals and tactile layers – quilted throws, soft velvets and warm metallic accents – enhance its natural sheen and create a look that feels indulgent yet serene.

Linen

Cooling benefits: With its effortlessly relaxed texture and beautiful softness, linen is naturally breathable and helps regulate body temperature, allowing warmth to escape while drawing moisture away from the skin.

Style it with:
Warm, natural materials like wood and wicker, that add to the artisan feel.

Choose a lighter duvet

As temperatures rise, switch to a summer-weight duvet. Our 4.5 tog is our lightest option for warm nights, or choose 7.5 tog for something a little cosier. The right weight helps regulate temperature, so you stay comfortable while you sleep.

Layer with intention

Make your bed with a top sheet, then add a lightweight cotton blanket or bedspread. Finish with a throw or second bedspread at the foot of the bed, ready to pull up as the evening cools. Flexible layers mean comfort, whatever the temperature. Here’s some of our favourites to try…

Ashby

Lightweight cotton voile with a floral print inspired by traditional Indian block designs, and crafted in India. A soft, decorative layer.

Seville

Textured white with a stripe pintuck finish, this style is softly padded for an understated, Scandi-inspired feel.

Lyle

Chambray cotton blend with textured stripes – tonal greys create easy, modern contrast against crisp white.

Kenton

Beautifully versatile. Made in Portugal from pure cotton, it has a refined piqué weave and is great for layering over a simple top sheet.
